LEEDS: Engineering Design CIC
Engineering Design Centre of
Industrial Collaboration at the
University of Leeds
The Engineering Design Centre of Industrial Collaboration (EDCIC) at the University of Leeds is part of the network of Centres of Industrial Collaboration, a £11 million initiative established by Yorkshire Forward to help businesses harness innovation and cutting-edge expertise from universities within Yorkshire and the Humber.
Since we started in 2003, we?ve helped our growing international client base to realise new product & process designs and take them profitably to market.
We do this by combining commercial realism with academic specialism, to ensure that our clients get the bespoke technical service they need, on time and within budget. We?ve successfully delivered projects from consumer products sourced in developing economies to specialist industrial plant in thermodynamically challenging regimes, from security products to neonatal care.
We can achieve this breadth of engineering knowledge only through access to the university knowledge base at Leeds and beyond ? the University of Leeds employs 8,000 staff and invests more than £91million a year in research. This gives us world-class in-house expertise, in fields from thermodynamics to linguistics, from spinal biomechanics to tribology.
We work through the whole spectrum of innovation, from fundamental research, through to concept generation and specification, and prototype and low-volume manufacture, testing and approvals. Working with the EDCIC gives to access to the full range of university facilities, inside the Faculty of Engineering and beyond, harnessing the expertise of other industrial and academic partners as required, to create a team of experts to focus on your innovation needs.
