Corridor Manchester is the first of its kind in the UK. As a partnership it brings together Manchester City Council, The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to build on the partners? investments in the 243 hectare area running south from St Peter?s Square to Whitworth Park along Oxford Road, Manchester.

Today Corridor Manchester:

generates £2.8 billion, which is 22.5% of the city?s GVA

55,000 people work on Corridor Manchester, which is 18% of the city?s workforce

43% of the activity is in knowledge-intensive sectors, which is much higher than the national (22%) and regional (21%) averages

By 2020:

The value of capital investment on Corridor Manchester will be £2.5 billion

Corridor Manchester will have a £4.7 billion GVA and a workforce of 77,000

The University of Manchester
