Licensing and Collaboration: The University has a portfolio of licensing opportunities across a wide range of disciplines and has created several high profile, innovative collaboration models with Industry.

Spin Out Companies: The University has created over 20 Spin Out companies through established preincubation and incubation models, creating around an estimated 600 current jobs in the local economy.

Knowledge Transfer: The University actively participates in Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and TSB initiatives. The Innovation Portal is a joint project with the University of Abertay and SCRI to focus on proactive engagement and knowledge transfer with SMEs.

Drug Discovery: A major investment of over £13m created a state of the art Drug Discovery Unit, which recruited key senior staff from industry to accelerate early stage projects into pharmaceutical licensing opportunities.

Medical Devices: The Institute for Medical Science and Technology (IMSaT) is a joint project with the University of St Andrews to foster research and commercialisation at the interface with physics and life sciences.

Clinical Research Centre: The Tayside Clinical Research Centre is a £15m facility managed by the University and the NHS providing Industry with state of the art facilities and specialist trial staff to accommodate clinical trials.
