Government CIO leads the way
The top 50 most influential and innovative technology chiefs in the UK have been named in the annual silicon.com CI050.
John Suffolk, Chief Information Officer, UK Government, came out on top, after being recognised for his wide-reaching influence over the public sector?s use of innovative technology.
With over 25 years of industry experience, he leads the work of the CIO Council in delivering the Government?s strategy for the transformation of public services enabled by technology.
Also included in this year?s top 10 are Jos Creese, Head of IT, Hampshire County Council,; Ben Wishart, COO International & Group CIO, Whitbread; Neil Cameron, Former Global CIO, Unilever; and Joe Harley, Director General of Corporate IT and CIO Department for Work and Pensions.
The annual list, compiled in association with Verizon, was launched in 2007, and is compiled from the votes of the UK CIO community.
Nominees are judged on leadership ability, delivery and execution, innovation, and influence.
