The Centre for Defence Enterprise, in conjunction with Cardiff University and the Welsh Assembly Government, will by holding a seminar ?CDE - Open for Innovation? on 17th September. CDE is the Ministry of Defence?s open portal for good ideas and innovative science that can be used in defence applications. At this seminar CDE will outline the opportunities and challenges in different areas of defence covering all types of science and engineering.

It will show attendees how they can develop and submit proposals that will be assessed and possibly funded in just a few weeks. Speakers will outline particular challenges in areas such as ?reducing the burden on the dismounted soldier?, alternative energy, counter terrorism and medical care. It will also be a valuable opportunity to learn more about the Centre for Defence Enterprise and the Ministry of Defence in general.
